Fenwick – Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West, joined Brenda Langendoen, Executive Director of Horse Sense for Kids, and Marvin Junkin, Mayor of the Town of Pelham, at B’N’R Stables in Fenwick today to open a new horse therapy Discovery Centre. The Discovery Centre was supported by a $66,200 capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
“A big congratulations to Horse Sense for Kids on being awarded this significant grant,” said MPP Oosterhoff.
“It is great to see worthy organizations such as Horse Sense for Kids be supported as they provide programs and support for at-risk children and youth in our communities, and strengthen the social fabric of our region and province.”
The provincial grant helped support the renovation and repair of the Discovery Centre at B’N’R Stables in Fenwick.
“Horses have been so important in my life,” said Brenda Langendoen, Executive Director of Horse Sense for Kids.
“Sharing my passion with these kids means everything to me. The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant means we can improve and expand our programs.
Brenda Langendoen, along with husband Rob, own B’N’R Stables and founded Horse Sense for Kids in 2019 to provide a community program for at-risk children and youth.
Horse Sense for Kids partners with organizations including Pathstone Mental Health, Family and Children’s Services Niagara and the District School Board of Niagara.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario, is one of Canada’s leading community granting foundations. In 2022, the Ontario Trillium Foundation invested over $110 million into 1,022 community projects and partnerships.
