Ontario Trillium Foundation Supports Civiconnect in Beamsville

Beamsville – Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West, joined Nour Hage, President and Chief Exectuive Officer of Civiconnect, along with Sandra Easton, Mayor of the Town of Lincoln, and local councillor, Dianne Rintjema, in Beamsville today to announce $104,600 in funding received through a capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

“As a local nonprofit organization, Civiconnect has been effectively bringing job seekers and job creators together to help fill Niagara’s labour gap,” said MPP Oosterhoff.

“This provincial grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to construct an accessible washroom space at the training centre in Beamsville will help reduce barriers for young jobseekers participating in Civiconnect’s skills development programs.”

Upgrades at the historical former town hall include a fully accessible washroom, ensuring compliance with building codes and reducing barriers for participants in Civiconnect’s training programs.

“We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our accessibility enhancement project, made possible through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Nour Hage, President and CEO of Civiconnect.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to creating inclusive spaces that cater to the diverse needs of our community members.”

“Non-profit organizations across Ontario deliver programming that makes a difference,” said Hon. Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport.

“That is why funding that my Ministry is providing through the Ontario Trillium Foundation is so important. Our government wants to ensure that these programs and spaces remain the heart of communities across our province.”

Civiconnect is dedicated to equipping the next generation of professionals for career success while providing services to businesses across Ontario. Their flagship program, the Youth Skills Studio, is designed to prepare youth by bridging the gap between education and employment.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario, is one of Canada’s leading community granting foundations. In 2023/24, the Ontario Trillium Foundation has invested over $31 million in 295 non-profit organizations through the Resilient Communities Fund and $39 million in 448 non-profit organizations through the Capital Grant Stream.
