Beamsville – The Ontario government is welcoming an investment of $12 millon by Moyer’s Apple Products, an Ontario-based agri-food processor and family-run business operating since 1799, to construct a new facility and increase production capacity, while creating twelve new good-paying jobs in the Town of Lincoln.

The investment was announced today by Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West. MPP Oosterhoff was joined in Beamsville by Rob Foster, Acting Chair of the Regional Municipality of Niagara; Sandra Easton, Mayor of the Town of Lincoln; Adrian Dominguez, General Manager of Moyer’s Apple Products, and Vince Benincasa, President of Court Holdings Manufacturing, as well as several other local municipal officials and community leaders.

“By supporting strategic investments from regional businesses, our government is protecting Ontario’s workers and creating the conditions for a strong, stable and resilient economy that can weather any storm,” said MPP Oosterhoff.

“This investment by Moyer’s Apple Products will support growth and innovation across the local manufacturing sector and create better-paying jobs for workers and families in our region.”

Through this investment, Moyer’s Apple Products will build a 69,000 square-foot facility in Beamsville. The new state-of-the-art facility will include automated production and packaging lines that increase efficiency, reduce labour costs and eliminate production constraints, as well as an industrial kitchen that will support the reshoring of caramel and chocolate production while strengthening the company’s competitiveness.

“This investment allows Moyer’s Apple Products to drive greater efficiency across our operations while continuing to grow responsibly in Niagara,” said Vince Benincasa, President of Court Holdings Manufacturing.

“By investing in advanced automation and expanded capacity, we are strengthening our ability to serve customers, support local suppliers and employ people and families from our community. We appreciate the Ontario government’s support as we continue contributing to the region’s long term economic development.”

In support of this investment, the Ontario government is providing Moyer’s Apple Products with $1.5 million in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.

“Employing more than 800,000 workers across the province, Ontario’s manufacturing sector is the economic engine of our nation,” said Hon. Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

“Our government is proud to support local companies like Moyer’s Apple Products as they expand their operations, and we thank them for their contributions to Ontario’s dynamic and growing manufacturing ecosystem.”

Ontario is investing over $230 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 180 projects through the program, leveraging more than $2.6 billion in new investments and helping to create over 5,500 jobs.

“Niagara is home to an incredibly diverse economy, and one of the jewels of that economy is our advanced manufacturing sector,” said Rob Foster, Councillor for the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

“Moyer’s Apple Products is bringing new ideas to market and pushing the boundaries of what we can produce right here in Niagara. This funding will help ensure Moyer’s continues to thrive, protecting well-paying jobs in Niagara.”

“It is a pleasure to join our community in recognizing Moyer’s Apple Products, which has played such an important role in driving our local economy,” said Sandra Easton, Mayor of the Town of Lincoln.

“Through innovation, investment and the creation of skilled, good-paying jobs, Moyer’s continues to contribute to the vitality of the Town of Lincoln. Supporting manufacturers like this help position our region for long-term, sustainable economic growth.”
