MPP Oosterhoff Hosts New Year’s Levée Events in Fonthill and Beamsville

Beamsville – Joined by community leaders, municipal representatives and local constituents, Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West, celebrated the arrival of 2024 with New Year’s Levée events at Branch 613 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Fonthill and Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery in Beamsville today.

“New Year’s Levée events are a great way to greet constituents, hear about local issues and propose a shared vision for the year forward,” said MPP Oosterhoff.

“As MPP for Niagara West, I am committed to representing local issues and serving as the voice of Niagara at Queen’s Park – not the voice of Queen’s Park to Niagara.”

MPP Oosterhoff provided updates at the annual event regarding provincial priorities for Niagara West, including progress of the new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, recent regulatory changes to help local grape growers and farm families thrive and prosper and the implementation of a number of cost-of-living measures, including the province’s extension of gas and fuel tax cuts to June 30, 2024.

“Our government continues to invest in critical infrastructure, help workers save for their retirement, put money back in people’s pockets and make public services convenient and easy to access,” said MPP Oosterhoff.

As Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Red Tape Reduction, MPP Oosterhoff helped facilitate passage of the Less Red Tape, More Common Sense Act, 2023, which received Royal Assent on December 4, 2023.
