MPP-Elect Oosterhoff Back to Work for Niagara West
Beamsville – Thanking the voters of Niagara West, MPP-Elect Oosterhoff sent a letter this morning, February 28, addressed to Premier Ford outlining a commitment to local priorities in Niagara with the pledge to Protect Ontario. The text of the letter is included below:
Dear Premier Ford,
Congratulations on once again being entrusted by the voters of our province with a large majority Ontario PC government. I look forward to working with you and our Ontario PC caucus to deliver on our campaign commitments to Protect Ontario.
The priorities and concerns we heard in Niagara West include the following:
- Protecting Ontario workers and jobs from American tariff threats and to do whatever it takes to support impacted workers and businesses.
- Build key infrastructure, including widening the Queen Elizabeth Way between Burlington and St. Catharines, delivering a new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and moving ahead with construction of the Grimsby GO Station.
- Keep costs down by making the current gas tax cut permanent, reducing taxes and red tape for entrepreneurs and job creators, and continuing to put money back into people’s pockets.
- Working for workers by investing in the skilled trades and providing more opportunities to retain workers for better jobs and bigger pay cheques.
- Improve access to health care by training more family doctors, opening two new medical schools, providing tuition support for doctors and nurses in underserved areas and continuing to invest in mental health and addiction recovery.
I know that many of these local priorities are aligned with your values and concerns, and I look forward to working closely to deliver on these commitments for Niagara West.
Once again, I offer my hearty congratulations. I am energized by the opportunity to work alongside you and our entire Ontario PC team to Protect Ontario. I am confident you will lead – as always – with heart, dedication and hard work.
Sam Oosterhoff, MPP-Elect
